Game Report: Avalanche 7, Blues 3
The Blues started the new year with one of their worst games in a long time.
Jordan Binnington was pulled from the game in the third period after allowing a career-high seven goals as the Blues were routed by the Avalanche on Thursday night in Colorado.
The Avalanche had 42 shots on goal and scored three power-play goals in handing the Blues their second consecutive loss. Colorado built a 3-0 lead before the Blues closed the gap on second-period goals from Robert Thomas and Alex Pietrangelo but then blew the game open in the third period.
The seven goals were the most allowed by the Blues in a game this season.
The Blues will play at Las Vegas on Saturday.
