Blues offense goes flat in 2-1 loss to Panthers

For the second game in a row the Blues forwards failed to score during Monday night’s game against the Florida Panthers at Enterprise Center.

They were able to beat the Blackhawks on Sunday night in Chicago without any goals from the forwards, but they could not repeat that success against the Panthers in a 2-1 loss.

The Panthers broke a 1-1 tie late in the second period and got the game-winning goal ealy in the third period, outshooting the Blues 34-27 in the game.

Colton Parayko scored the only goal for the Blues, temporarily giving them a 1-0 lead in the second period, after Robert Bortuzzo and Alex Pietrangelo scored the only goals against the Blackhawks.

The Blues failed to convert on either of their two power-play opportunities, being limited to just one shot on goal.

The Blues will play at Anaheim on Wednesday night, making up the game that was postponed earlier this season when Jay Bouwmeester collapsed on the bench after a cardiac episode.
