Adam Wainwright has long been a fan-favorite and he is using that popularity to help others. There are two ways fans can help. him: One is buy the special tickets and the second way is buy raffle tickets for a special painting that will be made tonight (Tuesday Sept. 28)
The St. Louis Cardinals and starting pitcher Adam Wainwright are urging fans to keep packing Busch Stadium for the final homestand of the regular season as the team looks to clinch the second NL Wild Card playoff spot.
On sale now, fans can purchase tickets for just $5 to watch the Cardinals take on the Milwaukee Brewers on September 28-30. The Cardinals will donate $1 of each ticket sold to Adam’s Big League Impact charity. A limited number of these specially-priced tickets will be available while supplies last. Tickets are limited to eight per customer. To purchase tickets, or for more information, visit cardinals.com/waino.
Wainwright is also using his big moment to raise money (and awareness) for Big League Impact, the nonprofit he and his brother started nearly a decade ago.
“I’ve said it before, I’ll say it again — you only get a few years to have a platform like the one I’ve got right now,” Wainwright said. “Might as well stand on it.”
To commemorate this moment, New Orleans-based artist Frenchy will create a live painting of Wainwright on Sept. 28 during his final start of the 2021 regular season. Cardinals fans will be able to enter a raffle to win this one-of-a-kind painting; 10 additional winners will receive a Steven Walden print autographed by Wainwright.
The grand prize winner of the raffle will also receive a one-of-one NFT of the live painting. Additional NFT originals will be available by Frenchy and other artists on the BLI website and NFTHub.Kred soon.
Proceeds will benefit Big League Impact, which partners with professional athletes to help people meet basic human needs like food, clean water, medical care, shelter, and education in an effort to save lives, restore dignity, and instill hope. To date, the organization has raised more than $5.8 million for people in need around the world.
Additionally, a portion of the proceeds will benefit Hurricane Ida relief efforts in the artist’s home state of Louisiana.
Raffle tickets will be:
one (1) for $50;
three (3) for $100;
or 20 for $500.
Raffle tickets will be available for purchase from noon Sept. 28 until 11:59 p.m. Oct. 3 at www.bigleagueimpact.org/live-painting. Winners will be announced Oct. 4 on the Big League Impact website and social media.
