Big League Impact  announces the return of Big League Blast, a charity sporting clays tournament hosted by Philadelphia Phillies pitcher Kyle Gibson and his wife, Elizabeth, and featuring MLB players from across the league.
On Oct. 30, registered participants can enjoy a morning full of friendly competition at St. Louis Trap & Skeet Club in Pacific, Mo. All proceeds from the event will benefit Grace’s Place, a licensed emergency shelter for children and youth whose families are in crisis.
“We are passionate about helping kids in need, and are excited to partner with a great organization like Grace’s Place, which is doing so much good for kids and families in this region,” Gibson says. “So many times that need is created by things entirely outside of these kids’ control, or their parents’ control, and so we’re always looking for ways to share some of the resources we’ve been so richly blessed with to help in those situations.”
Other participating players include Phillies pitchers Sam CoonrodArchie BradleyIan Kennedy and Aaron Nola. MLB players’ availability is limited and subject to change.
“Elizabeth and I are so grateful that so many of these guys were willing to come out for this event,” Gibson says. “My new teammates in Philadelphia have already been so supportive of our work with Big League Impact and I know they’re gonna help make this a great event.”
The 5-man team that hits the most targets while shooting at 12 stands will win a field visit, an opportunity to watch batting practice and five tickets to a 2022 St Louis Cardinals home game.
Lunch is included. Ear and eye protection and ammunition will be provided; participants can bring their own shotgun or rent one at the event.
