LEADOFF QUICK HITTERS

FRIDAY, JULY 3, 2026

Dustin May could not complete the first inning after he was hit on the right ankle by a line drive but the Cardinals offense and bullpen combined to pick him up in an 11-5 win over the Braves on Thursday night in Atlanta. May gave up five runs and pitched to three more batters after he was hurt before he limped off the mound.

Jordan Walker, Nathan Church and Alec Burleson homered, with Walker adding a fourth RBI as the Cardinals scored seven runs in the seventh inning. The bullpen shut out the Braves on just three hits over the final 8 1/3 innings.

The Cardinals open a three-game series today against the Cubs in Chicago, with the first pitch scheduled for 3:05 p.m. Andre Pallante will get the start.
