LEADOFF QUICK HITTERS

SUNDAY, MARCH 29, 2026

JJ Wetherholt drove in two runs with a single in the 10th inning on Saturday to give the Cardinals a 6-5 walk-off win over Tampa Bay at Busch Stadium. The Cardinals had blown a 4-0 lead in the ninth, then fell behind by a run going into the bottom of the 10th. Wetherholt is the first Cardinal to drive in two runs in each of his first two games in the majors since Tom Nieto in 1984.

Michael McGreevy did not allow a hit through the first six innings but came out of the game after throwing 96 pitches.

The Cardinals will try to complete a sweep of the three-game series today as Dustin May makes his St. Louis debut.
