“On behalf of the staff of Homewood Suites, we want to extend our sincerest gratitude in working with Rob and Sally Rains of STL Sports Page.

We enjoy our annual charity pep rally which we co-sponsor. Year after year, the event grows and raises money for the hotel charity– Leukemia & Lymphoma Society — and also for Rainbows for Kids.

We hope to continue our relationship for many years to come!”  –Elise Robinson, Homewood Suites, 2024

Why Advertise On A Website

*Advertising brings people together to introduce new products or services
The internet can do that in the click of a button—faster than any other medium.

*Internet advertising is what it is all coming to. We could say it’s the thing of the future, but in fact it’s exploding now—evidenced by the Suburban Journals recently switching to online only and the Post-Dispatch installing a “pay wall”.
*Internet advertising supports other forms of advertising and promotion.
You can’t fit a lot in a Yellow Pages ad and a television or radio ad comes and goes, but with the web you have a lasting promotion that can be seen at any time.
*Social media and internet marketing are the fastest growing forms of communication and your business is probably using them so advertise where others will see it.
*The internet is open 24-hours a day. The younger generation has grown up on the web and sadly, many do not even pick up a newspaper or a book, but they sure do check Twitter to see what’s happening and click on links to get to articles.
*Advertising on the internet is cost effective. No paper or studio –time is involved.

STLSportsPage.com is a unique website covering the St. Louis Cardinals,  started in 2012 by Rob Rains and Sally Rains. This free, quick-loading, mobile-friendly website provides breaking Cardinals news and features; along with travel, entertainment, and food articles

  • Baseball writer Rob Rains (heard often on St. Louis radio) covers the Cardinals
  • Sally started at KMOX Sports Department; assists with content and production
  • Mike Reeves, audio producer; Suzanne Corbett, food/travel editor

How We Got Started:

The site began as a supplement to a radio show Rob Rains and B.J. Rains did in St. Louis in 2012 but it quickly grew beyond expectations. When the show ended due to a format change at the radio station, the advertisers were all asked if they wanted to stay on and most said yes and are still advertising today.

Rob Rains

  • Author of more than 30 books, most about the Cardinals
  • Lifetime member of the Baseball Writers Association of America
  • Previous employment: UPI , St. Louis Globe-Democrat, USA Today Baseball Weekly (NL beat writer)

  • Quality, objective reporting about the Cardinals in addition to breaking news. Rains broke the story that the Cardinals had fired manager Mike Shildt
