Game Report: Coyotes 6, Blues 1
The Blues were already without Alex Pietrangelo and Alexander Steen going into Saturday night’s game in Arizona as a result of injuries suffered Friday night in Colorado.
The news did not get any better during the game.
In addition to suffering the loss to the Coyotes, the Blues lost Robby Fabbri to an apparent shoulder injury. The extent of all of the injuries was not immediately known.
The Coyotes scored four of their goals in the second period against backup Chad Johnson, finishing with 44 shots on goal in the game. St. Louis-area native Clayton Keller had a goal and two assists for the Coyotes.
The Blues also were shorthanded for a good portion of the game, raking up 28 minutes in penalties.
Their only goal came from Robert Thomas when he deflected a shot by Jay Bouwmeester in the second period.
Looking ahead: The Blues will be off until Wednesday night, when they will host Edmonton in a reunion against former coach Ken Hitchcock.
