Game Report: Blues 4, Coyotes 0
Make it eight wins in a row for the Blues.
Vladimir Tarasenko scored twice and Jordan Binnington recorded his third shutout of the season in the Blues’ 4-0 win Thursday night over the Coyotes in Phoenix.
The win moved the Blues past Dallas and into third place in the Central Division as they continued their remarkable climb in the standings after they were in last place in the Western Conference on Jan. 1.
The two goals were the 23rd and 24th of the season for Tarasenko, who became the third Blues player to score at least one point in 10 consecutive games this season. In his last 10 games he has registered 17 points on nine goals and eight assists.
Binnington stopped all 21 Coyotes shots as he raised his record to 11-1-1. He has been in goal for seven of the eight consecutive, the Blues’ longest winning streak since they also won eight games in a row in 2002.
Joel Edmundson had a goal and an assist while Robert Bortuzzo scored the final Blues goal.
Looking ahead: The Blues will play back to back road games on Saturday in Colorado and on Sunday in Minnesota.
