Game Report: Senators 2, Blues 0
This would not be a good time for the Blues to go on a losing streak.
They suffered their second consecutive loss on Thursday night, getting shut out in Ottawa. The loss, combined with a win by Dallas, left the Stars and Blues each with 79 points but the Stars passed the Blues and moved into third place in the Central Division thanks to more regulation or overtime wins.
The Senators broke a scoreless tie midway through the second period and then added an insurance goal with 57 seconds left in the third period.
Jake Allen was in goal for the Blues, who out-shot the Senators by a 35 to 21 margin.
Looking ahead: The Blues three-game road trip continues on Saturday against the Penguins in Pittsburgh.
