Game Report: Blue Jackets 3, Blues 2 (overtime)

Having a game go to overtime has become a regular occurrence for the Blues this season, and it happened again on Friday night.

A penalty for having too many men on the ice in the overtime led to a power-play goal 3:34 into overtime that gave the Blue Jackets the win over the Blues in Columbus.

The Blues have gone to overtime 10 times in their first 20 games of the season, including the last three games and seven times in their last nine games.

In the 10 games decided in overtime or a shootout the Blues are 5-5.

The Blues have earned at least one point in their last nine games and in 11 of their last 12.

Goals by Mackenzie MacEachern and Brayden Schenn, on a power-play, put the Blues in front 2-1 going to the third period before the Blue Jackets scored to tie the game,

Jake Allen stopped 36 of 39 shots by the Blue Jackets, who out-shot the Blues 39-27.

Looking ahead: The Blues will be back at home on Saturday night, hosting Anaheim.
