LEADOFF QUICK HITTERS

WEDNESDAY, JUNE 17, 2026 

Andre Pallante retired the first 14 batters he faced Tuesday night and ended up allowing two runs on four hits over seven innings as the Cardinals defeated the Padres 3-2 at Busch Stadium. Riley O'Brien earned his 18th save. Alec Burleson extended his career-high hitting streak to 15 games.

Playing at Memphis, prospect Joshua Baez hit four homers for the Cardinals' Triple A affiliate. He hit a three-run homer, a two-run homer and two solo shots, finishing the night with seven RBIs. He now leads all Triple A baseball with 23 homers.

Kyle Leahy will get the start today as the Cardinals try to complete a sweep of the three-game series against the Padres. First pitch is scheduled for 1:15 p.m.
