LEADOFF QUICK HITTERS

MONDAY, MARCH 16, 2026

Nelson Velazquez hit a three-run homer off former Cardinal Miles Mikolas and later drove in another run with a single on Sunday to lead the Cardinals to a 6-3 win over the Nationals in Jupiter. Richard Fitts allowed only one hit over 4 2/3 innings but walked three. Matthew Liberatore's scheduled start was moved to a minor-league game.

Non-roster reliever Packy Naughton was one of seven players reassigned to the minor-league camp, leaving the spring roster at 36 players.

The Cardinals will have the day off today.
