WEDNESDAY, JULY 22, 2026 

The Angels jumped on Matthew Liberatore for five runs in the first inning and beat the Cardinals 5-1 on Tuesday night in Anaheim. It was the fourth loss in a row for the Cardinals and the second in a row against the Angels, who are tied for the fewest wins in the majors with the Rockies.

The Cardinals will recall Hunter Dobbins from Memphis to make the start today as they attempt to avoid being swept in the three-game series. The rest of the rotation will be pushed back a day as the Cardinals are in a stretch of playing 20 games in 20 days. .
