LEADOFF QUICK HITTERS

THURSDAY, APRIL 30, 2026

The Cardinals survived another leaky night from their bullpen and hung on to beat the Pirates 5-4 on Wednesday night in Pittsburgh, their third consecutive victory. The Cardinals led 5-1 in the seventh but gave up two runs in that inning and one in the eighth before Nathan Church made a game-saving catch at the wall in left field to end the game.

Hunter Dobbins will make his Cardinals debut in the final game of the series today, opposite Paul Skenes. The first pitch is scheduled for 11:35 a.m. St. Louis time.
